Lost In A Sea of Noise
Have you ever
felt alone? Not the comfortable, under the covers on a stormy night reading your favourite read? I mean alone. By yourself, no one is there and couldn't relate to what you are going through or have been through. This is making you feel different from everyone else.
Feeling different can be unnerving and uncomfortable and yet it shows us that we are on the right path to becoming who we are meant to be. Yet, we want to feel like we belong, which makes us feel alone. I remember telling my children I wouldn't name request a coach as we couldn't choose who came into our lives such as colleagues, bosses, fellow students, the person serving us, etc. Being able to be with others was part of life and learning how to get to know them was another part. I also remember how unimpressed they were at the time.
We all have journey that is our own. We meet other people. Some for a quick second, some for a little longer. Some may be family or friends; however, none have the journey you are on. With this journey comes a gift. The gift is to be used to help others while expanding our life to its fullest potential. Some of us understand what our gift is and use it every day to make the world a better place and a better life for themselves. Some of us know what our gift is; and yet, not how to use it or resist the use of it. Then there are some of us who don't believe we have a gift, let alone a purpose for it if we did. Well, we do. Each one of us. A special gift that when shared, will help others and ourselves. Remember, we do belong, even on our sole journey.
What causes us to not understand what our gift is? The Sea of Noise is keeping that gift hidden. What is the Sea of Noise you ask? The Sea of Noise is the news, social media, everyone's opinion you listen to about how you should live your life, dress, do what you do, decide where you should go, and so many more thoughts. Somehow, we stopped trusting ourselves and became depended on what society thought about us and for us. What if we return to trusting our decisions. The calm ones that direct and guide us. Not the frantic ones that dissuade us from taking a step. You know the one, the one that says, "You can't do that or the sky will fall in." The calm one will say, "Take a step. One step."
Being uncomfortable is moving you out of your comfort zone. Being unique means shining your light. Being you. Authentically you. Which may seem like a risk to you. The more you are yourself, the less you are lost, as you know who you are, what you stand for, what you want to do, and where you want to go. When you find those that aren't on the same page as you, thank them and move forward.
Find your gift and use it. If you are unsure what your gift may be, I invite you to think about what you love to do. Not just like or do because someone else is doing it and you don't want to be left out, but something that brings you to life. Makes you grin ear to ear when you think of it. Makes your heart open wide with joy when you are doing it. Remember what it is that made you feel that way. Chances are, it was something in your past that you let go because someone said it wasn't going to happen. It wasn't realistic.
That is the start of the discovery of what you were meant to do while you are here. Not swirling about in the sea of noise. Turn that volume down and raise the volume of your inner voice. Let yourself shine. If you would like to start the conversation of where you would like to go and what you would like to do, or maybe you don't know where to start and need some tools, I would like to connect and hear all about it. Wishing for your light to shine brightly on your journey. Till we meet again, all the best to you.
